How to Keep The Life Expectancy of Your Laptop Battery

In this article, you'll apprentice how to accumulate your battery's activity assumption usually 1 and bisected to 2 years. I accept the acquaintance and ability aback I was a antecedent agent at Geek Squad. I've dealt with barter that would buy a new laptop and accompany it aback afterwards 2 weeks due to their battery not abiding as continued as it should afterwards getting absolutely charged.

1. In order for your battery to last at least 3 to 5 hours after fully being charged, please do not play videos in Full Screen. This will reduce the battery's energy quicker since it uses the processor heavily, which makes your computer work harder and sometimes can become unstable or slower. If possible, it is best not to play videos without an adaptor, but if it is important and maybe you want to show a client a video for example, then watch the video at a smaller size. If you have to enlarge the video size, just be aware that you're battery will drain quicker.

2. Reduce the brightness of your LCD screen in order for your charged battery to last longer. Doing so can make your charged battery last longer from 3 to 5 hours or more depending on what kind of battery you may have. On a Windows laptop, you can adjust the brightness with the F5 (reduces brightness) and F6 (Increases brightness) keys. On a Macbook laptop, the F1 (reduces) and F2 (increases) keys adjusts the brightness.

3. Images of Windows and Macintosh screens
Change your energy and performance settings set to either put your laptop on standby when you're away from your computer or at least put your LCD on standby when away for more than 3 minutes. On a Mac, you can do so by clicking the blue apple mac symbol on the top left of the menu selection and choose "System Preferences". Then click on "Energy Saver" under Hardware. I would recommend to put the computer to sleep when inactive for 5 minutes and the LCD display to go on standby after 3 minutes. For a PC laptop, go to Start > Control Panel > Performance and Maintenance > Power Options. Once in power options, under the Power Schemes tab, choose to turn off monitor after 3 minutes and put the system on standby after 5 minutes.

4. The most important step of all, do NOT overcharge your toshiba laptop battery after it has been fully charged. Doing so will deplete the battery's life. On the Macbook, you can tell that it has been fully charged after the LED light turns green. If it isn't fully charged, the LED light will be amber. For Windows laptops, you have to manually check within Windows operating system on the taskbar on the bottom right to see if it is fully charged. This is IMPORTANT! If you will use your laptop at home or work stationary, only have the AC adaptor plugged in without the battery inside your laptop. In other words, please take out the battery and plug in the AC adaptor only if you will remain stationary. If you will be moving around a lot with your laptop, then you can have your battery inserted since you will use it mobilely. This is the best advice that you can get to extend your battery's life.
